About this event
Linux Command Line Fundamentals is a beginner-friendly workshop for anyone looking to build practical Linux skills used across research computing, programming, and AI workflows.
This session provides a guided introduction to the Linux command line interface (CLI) and core file-system concepts, taught in the context of UW’s on-premises supercomputing services, Hyak Klone and Tillicum. Participants will practice essential commands and learn how to navigate directories, copy and rename files, explore file contents, understand Hyak storage policies, and transfer data to and from the cluster.
While demonstrations will use Hyak Klone, the skills taught are platform-agnostic and directly transferable to Tillicum, cloud environments, and other Linux systems.
No prior Linux or HPC experience is required. Hybrid: YES! Join us in person or on Zoom.
