Presentaton Topic:

Asset Management and AI tools in Fire Protection Engineering

Abstract:

Fire protection engineering programs generate extensive asset, inspection, maintenance, procurement, and compliance data that can be leveraged to improve system reliability and risk-informed decision-making. This presentation showcases an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) framework integrated with Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for lifecycle management of fire protection systems. The approach addresses tens of thousands of assets, including fire extinguishers, fire barriers, fire doors, fire/smoke dampers, hot work areas, sprinkler systems, and fire alarm systems. AI-enabled processes support Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) activities by analyzing asset histories, identifying trends, prioritizing deficiencies, and supporting predictive maintenance. Integrated data also support automated work orders, procurement controls, personnel assignments, and code-compliance tracking. Business analytics transform operational data into actionable engineering insights for risk prioritization, resource optimization, and performance monitoring. This approach demonstrates how EAM, AI, and analytics can transform fire protection management into a proactive, measurable, and data-driven engineering process.
