About this event
Interested in writing, arts, language, history, or culture? Join the Shoreline College Career Center to explore how your interests and skills can connect to workplace experiences. This workshop will introduce internships, volunteering, mentorship, job shadowing, and employer projects while helping you prepare for January’s Work-Based Learning Fair. Explore how humanities skills contribute to communication, research, community outreach, events, and work across different industries. You’ll learn how to introduce yourself to employers, ask about opportunities, and propose ideas that connect what you want to learn with an organization’s needs. We’ll also discuss how volunteering can help you explore unfamiliar fields and build experience you can describe on your resume. Leave with questions to ask employers and an idea for a learning experience that fits your goals. You don’t need a specific career plan or previous experience to participate. Tuesday, December 1, 2026 | 1–2 PM Career Center, Maple 9000 Building, Room 9203
