About this event
Work-Based Learning Fair Prep: STEM & Technical Interests Interested in science, technology, engineering, or math? Join the Shoreline College Career Center to explore ways to build technical and problem-solving experience across different industries. This workshop will introduce internships, volunteering, mentorship, job shadowing, and employer projects while helping you prepare for January’s Work-Based Learning Fair. Explore how your skills can contribute to work in education, nonprofits, public agencies, businesses, and other settings. You’ll learn how to introduce yourself to employers, ask about opportunities appropriate to your current skills, and propose a project that connects your learning goals with an organization’s needs. We’ll also discuss how volunteering can help you explore unfamiliar industries and develop experience you can describe on your resume. Leave with questions to ask employers and an idea for a learning experience that fits your goals. You don’t need advanced technical skills, previous experience, or a specific career plan to participate. Wednesday, December 2, 2026 | 1–2 PM Career Center, Maple 9000 Building, Room 9203
