About this event

Walking in Winter. Normal winter weather will not cancel an event, but extreme cold, snow, high winds or torrential rain, will cause me to cancel completely or change what we do for safety's sake. Please check in the morning of the event to see what is happening. Arm yourself for seasonal weather swings. Please keep your RSVP up to date - even if you are on the waiting list. Please remember to be kind and respectful to all members of this group as well as other people and dogs you meet along the way. Do not allow your dog go up to other dogs or people without permission from those people and dog owners. Be mindful of your dog’s whereabouts and manage accordingly for the safety and comfort of all.

Let’s do a monthly hike through Cougar Mountain. I will map out a different 4-6 mile route each month, starting at the Sky Country Trailhead. Let’s go explore. Cougar Mountain Park has over thirty-five miles of trails winding through diverse habitats such as mature second-growth forests, streams and wetlands, cliffs, and nearby caves. While there are sweeping views of Lake Sammamish, the Cascades, Bellevue, Seattle, and beyond, there are areas of the park that are more remote from the sights and sounds of nearby urban development. Although most of the trails at Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park are primarily for hikers, some trails allow horseback riding. Due to hazards from historical mining activities in the park, you must stay on the trails.

The guest feature is turned off. You may bring a guest that travels in the same vehicle as you.
